Gordon Ferguson serves as an evangelist and elder in the Boston Church of Christ. He has set an excellent example as a husband, father and shepherd of God’s Church. After graduating in 1965 from Northwestern State University in Louisiana, Gordon taught school for a number of years. He gradually became interested in the ministry and attended the Preston Road School of Preaching in Dallas, graduating in 1972.

He later received an M.A. in New Testament from the Harding Graduate School of Religion in Memphis, Tennessee. He served in various congregations in Vancouver, Washington; Garland, Texas; Tacoma, Washington and San Diego, California. During his tenure with the church in Garland, he was also an instructor at the Preston Road School of Preaching. In 1987 after studying the Bible, both Gordon and his wife were baptized into Christ as disciples. In 1989, this same humility toward God’s Word allowed the Holy Spirit to raise Gordon up as an elder and his wife Theresa as a women’s counselor to serve alongside the Bairds and Gempels at the Boston Church of Christ.

Recently, Gordon and Theresa have been given the charge to help mature the churches in Continental Europe. Gordon was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. He married his high school sweetheart, Theresa, and they have two children. Brian, the oldest, serves as an intern with the Oahu Church of Christ, and their daughter Renee is a nanny for a ministry family in the London Church of Christ.

The Fergusons have become a tremendous light throughout the Kingdom of God. Gordon has led the way excelling in his dynamic preaching, in love for weak Christians, and in his openness about his life. Gordon and Theresa are known and admired for their godly counseling, in-depth Bible knowledge and their ability to build a strong, Christian family.

We are honored and excited to have Gordon help us gain a deeper understanding and conviction about God’s grace through his class on the book of Revelation.
