HIS Children

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is One. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give to you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:4-9

To impress is to leave a mark. God has called us to love Him with all our heart, soul, and strength. We must allow God’s love as well as His commands to make a mark on our hearts. That impression or mark is to be transferred into the hearts of our children.

How sad it is that the world has drifted farther and farther away from what we read in Deuteronomy. It is time that we as parents take a stand to see that God is always at the center and first priority of the family.

It is with great joy that we offer a guide to help the family focus on God together. The family devotional is meant to be a time when parents and children together can have a consistent opportunity to draw closer to God and to each other. Through the family devotional (using scripture as its base), there is an opportunity to teach, express feelings and grow in our ability to love the Lord.
