The Habits of Highly Effective Small Group Leaders

The Authors

John and Karen Louis are founders and senior leaders of the Central Christian Church, Singapore, which began in 1988. From the beginning. they have trained others and have built their ministries on small groups or bible talks. The Singapore church alone has about 150 small groups with a Sunday attendance of about 1,500 people. In 1990 a small group was also sent out from Singapore to plant a church in Jakarta, Indonesia which has since multiplied to an average Sunday attendance of about 2,300 people. In 1991 another small group was sent out to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and that ministry has grown to a Sunday attendance of about 500. Both these works have in turn sent out small groups to some of the major cities in their respective countries and to date there are about 17 churches all over the South East Asia Region with a membership of about 4,500 disciples.

John and Karen are also marriage and family educators. They have lived in Britain, Indonesia, Malaysia and Australia and for the last five years they have made Singapore their home. They have two children, Sonia (12) and David (10)
